NIGEL FARAGE: THE CITY OF LONDON'S POPULIST PUPPET.(16.01.2014)

Nigel Farage, the former City banker, turned "political"...leader of UKIP, is on fine rhetorical form, playing the people.

The only minor question is, come the 2015 elections, when the Lib Dems are wiped off the face of the earth, will Mr Farage jump in bed with the Tories or Labour to deliver, the latest round of bankers "bonuses" ?

NIGEL FARAGE: The City of London's Populist Puppet.

It is quite obvious that Mr Farage's only real purpose in life, is to maintain the financial "independence", of a rather large legal anomaly, known as the City of London.

HUFFINGTON POST:

Nigel Farage has said that the European Union is increasingly being controlled by big business and centralised bureaucracy, in a sensational warning that the forthcoming European elections will be the battleground to bring back national democracy.

In a strongly worded speech against the "dreamers" in the European Parliament, the Ukip leader went on to argue that people don’t want a "United States of Europe" but a Europe of sovereign states trading and working together.

Nigel Farage - A Very European Anti-European.

With Antonis Samaras settling into his role as EU President, Farage launched into an extraordinary attack against the Greek Prime Minister.

Referring to the ongoing financial crisis in Greece, the MEP said: “Well I must congratulate you Mr Samaras for getting the Greek Presidency off to such a cracking start."

He sarcastically remarked how Greeks "will be dancing in the streets" at Samaras' "successful" negotiation on MiFiD reminding him that "60% of youth are unemployed and the neo-nazi party are on the march."

Almost a third of the Greek workforce remain unemployed and the ongoing debt crisis sees the country needing to find an extra €11 billion to pay its debts this year alone.

Addressing Samaras, Farage said the country was now under foreign control after surrendering its democracy to the EU.

“You can’t make any decisions, you have been bailed out, and you have surrendered democracy, the thing your country invented in the first place."

“We are run now by big business, big banks, and in the shape of Mr Barroso, big bureaucrats," he added.

"That is what these European elections are really going to be all about," he said. "It is going to be a battle of national democracy versus EU state bureaucracy."

As the elections rapidly approach, analysis in The Economist, claimed anti-EU parties could double the number of seats they hold in the 751-seat European parliament, up from 12% to as high as 25%.

TRANSCRIPT:

“Well I must congratulate you Mr Samaras for getting the Greek Presidency off to such a cracking start.

“Your overnight successful negotiation in the trialogue of MiFID I am sure will have them dancing in the streets of Athens. No matter that your country, very poorly advised by Goldman Sachs, joined a currency that it was never suited to. No matter that 30% people are unemployed, that 60% of youth are unemployed, that a Neo-Nazi party is on the march, that there was a terrorist attack on the German embassy. No don’t worry about all that because the trialogue on MiFID has been a success. And in many ways it sums up the two Europes."

“The Europe that is talked about in here by the dreamers who want to impose a new United States of Europe with a new identity and its currency, and then the real world out there.

“And you come here Mr Samaras and tell us that you represent the ‘sovereign will of the of the Greek people’. Well I am sorry but you are not in charge of Greece, and I suggest you rename and rebrand your party. It is called New Democracy; I suggest you call it No Democracy because Greece is now under foreign control.

“You can’t make any decisions, you have been bailed out, and you have surrendered democracy, the thing your country invented in the first place. And you can’t admit that joining the Euro was a mistake because Mr Papandreou did that didn’t he. He even said there should be a referendum in Greece, and within 48 hours the unholy Trinity that now run this European Union had him removed and replaced by an ex-Goldman Sachs employee puppet.

“We are run now by big business, big banks, and in the shape of Mr Barroso, big bureaucrats.

“Actually, that is what these European elections are really going to be all about. It is going to be a battle of national democracy versus EU state bureaucracy.

“Whatever you say in this chamber the people out there don’t want a United States of Europe, they want a Europe of sovereign states trading and working together and I believe the European elections are going to mark a watershed.

“Up until now, everybody has thought, as much as they do not like the development of the European Union that it was inevitable. That myth of inevitability will be shattered in the European elections this year. Thank you.“
