It was Rupert Murdoch's Sun newspaper that led the march to war in Iraq with the 45 minutes lie.
banner stolen by the metropolitan police on 30.08.2011.
His latest front page fabrication in the Times, (and the Australian) about MI6 testing Syrian soil for nerve gas, has more holes than swiss cheese.
Anyone could put anything, in a tube anywhere, at any time.
Remember the "Official Assessment of the British govt over Iraq WMD" along with the January 2003 report.
Murdoch needs to be "regulated" by the people, across the web.
MI6 tests smuggled Syria soil for nerve agent
by Tom Coghlan and Michael Evans, The Times, 22 March 2013
Government scientists at Porton Down are examining a soil sample smuggled out of Syria after a suspected nerve gas attack on rebels in the country's civil war.
The sample was obtained in a covert mission involving MI6, the Secret Intelligence Service.
Experts at the Ministry of Defence's chemical research establishment in Wiltshire are testing the soil for traces of sarin nerve agent.
Syrian rebels claim that they have been attacked with chemical weapons by the Assad regime's forces but have failed to produce any proof.
US defence officials are trying to gather evidence and the UN has announced its own investigation into the alleged chemical attack near Aleppo on Tuesday.
The British investigation comes as President Obama, on a state visit to the Middle East, was pressured by Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, to act. Mr Obama warned during his visit that any move by the Syrian regime to launch chemical weapons against the opposition forces would be a "game changer", implying that it could lead to some form of military retaliation.
If experts at Porton Down discover evidence of chemical agents in the soil, pressure on the international community to take military action against the Syrian regime would increase. Western intelligence assessments indicate there are at least 50 stocks of chemical weapons inside the country.
Officials refused to comment on contingency planning for possible military action. One source said that previous allegations of chemical weapons being used, in December last year, are now thought to have involved the use of a non-lethal chemical called Agent 15, which incapacitates, but does not kill victims.
The Ministry of Defence refused to comment last night.
