It has always been my life-long dream to legally reclaim my own true identity.

Catalans are a 'minority' combining many Mediterranean families whose global 'diaspora' from a millennium of expulsions, inquisitions and wars is really a majority.

... april 2008... the best of times & worst of times...

A tipping point was the Cathar autonomous region of Agenais which saw an alliance between the Crown of Aragon and Counts of Toulouse against Caliphates while the Pope and royals spun the Albigensian Crusade which is the origin of the Holocaust, against them too. The Popes and royals were originally inbred and 'intermarried' with the 'jewels in the crown' of the minor nobility to maintain a public perception of legitimacy derived from the general population, while the Caliphates were no different with their ‘dhimmis’.

Catalans were betrayed by the British with the Treaty of Utrecht which spawned the growing inequalities of British led colonialism that culminated in Two World Wars. The Coal and Steel community fronted by Jean Monnet following World War Two was a cynical trade deal done during the long Franco era that continued the betrayal of Catalans et al, while Altieri Spinelli supported a more federal Europe for people.

The Pyrenean Bugat family have historically been divided between for example Catalans, Occitans, Andorrans and Ariegois etc.

Our family are and have been Jewish, Catholic and Muslim for example.

In fact true capitalism would recognise the fundamental human right of people to have the choice to own land necessary to build shelter for human survival so there really is a more level playing field with greater equality of opportunity for everyone.

It isn’t always really necessary to unravel Treaties which are political language that often do not reflect and can be subject to legal challenge from the peace and harmony of the rule of law.

Catalan redress which is the only way the EU is sustainable and there can be an Israel Palestine peace deal, is EU citizenship, which has to first be given to Catalans. There has to be a meaningful EU citizenship (incl. part of the Mediterranean) to stop the endless ‘diaspora’ of Catalans on all ’sides’.
