Today, Friday February 16 [typo, it should be 26] 2016, His Eminence Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr has delivered an address to the millions of Iraqi protestors who went out into streets at the Tahreer (Freedom) square in Baghdad.
His Eminence had called all Iraqis to protest against the corruption in the Iraqi government and called to reform the government.
"It is the voice of the reform, It is the voice of the salvation, It is the roaring voice, It is the voice of the Iraqi spring, It is the voice of the uprising people, It is the voice of the oppressed people, It is the voice of the poor and weak and the widows, It is the voice of the Iraqi blood which is shed, It is the voice of the of the displaced people and immigrants, It is the voice of the innocent detainees in prisons, It is the voice of the nation, It is the voice of the of the citizen, It is the voice of the minorities, It is the voice of the majority, It is the voice of the Iraq's oppressed Sunnis, It is the voice of the Iraq's oppressed Shia," al-Sadr said.
"It is the voice of whoever is reformer demander, so it should be louder than the one of any corrupt politician and any occupier and any ISIS' scared member," he said "your voice, Oh people, is the voice of the resistance and Jihad and the brave army and the security forces and the hero popular mobilization and all derived children and all patient old men" he added.
"Today I'm with you to announce bravely and frankly that the government has left it's people struggling the death, the fear, the hunger, the joblessness and the occupation," he said "it has left the people that they became in an economic, security, service and political crisis. Yes, all of them are caused by the previous government, but the present government is suffering from these crises" he said in his address for the protests.
